The day started off with some pumpkin carving.
Margaret carried her little pumpkin friend all around as Mom and Dad worked on carving the big pumpkins. |
It received lots of loves. |
She worked on "decorating" it with a capped marker. |
She also found it fit quite nicely inside Daddy's pumpkin. |
While Margaret napped (with her pumpkin), Fritz and I baked some cookies and cupcakes for the neighbors. Ok, he baked them while I busied myself cleaning up after him. I did pipe some bats, spiders, and jack-o-lanterns on the cupcakes, though.
My rather loose interpretation of a bat. |
My blobby spider. |
Then I made some butternut and acorn squash soup for our traditional Halloween "Ode to Squash" dinner. |
Margaret woke up in a horrible mood, so I wasn't able to get many pictures of her in costume. She did hold it together long enough to take our treats around to the neighbors, thankfully.
Here's our Little Red. |
The pumpkins came out once the sun went down. |
I finally got Margaret's away from her long enough to paint a face on and feed him to the scary cannibal pumpkin. |
We enjoyed our soup while we handed out ghost suckers to the trick-or-treaters. |
All in all, a very fun Halloween!

I think I'm going to have to order a pumpkin cutting kit for next year after seeing some of the amazing pumpkin designs around.
Margaret is just too cute in that Red Riding Hood outfit.
